He has brown eyes, a soothing voice, and a mind filled with detailed imagery of illustrations that evoke a sense of the uncanny. The young and delightful Trevor Rufaro Goustino known with the stage name Kay Gee 40 is an upcoming young artist who is finding a way to break through Zimbabwe's highly competitive art industry.
Originally from Dangamvura, Mutare, the now Harare-based artist specialises in composing Afro Soul music whose music is influenced by Hip Hop, Jazz and Reggae. He studied Ethnomusicology at Mutare Polytechnic class of 2007.
His inner artist was born when his parents divorced. Seeking to find a voice he started writing poetry and later on music. Trevor said his vision is to have a music school since he studied Ethnomusicology. His music seeks to motivate and give hope to mankind.
Performed at H.I.F.A. 2015, Shoko Festival 2013, Harare Food and Music Festival 2016 and Zimbabwe German Society (Acoustic Nights) to name a few.
