The Bulawayo-based Amakhosi Cultural Centre will be re-launching its Theatre Arts Production and Performance Unit in an attempt to revive the performance arts institution.

The theatre was founded by infamous playwright Cont Mhlanga in 1980 however it was disbanded in 2007 following the production of the political satire "The Good President". This year, however, they have decided to revive the institution by planning to re-launch the venue on the 27th of March as part of World Theatre Day celebrations at the venue.

To date auditions for the new talent for the theatre have already been conducted and successful applicants are yet to be announced.
