Music must set a positive agenda for the audience vows Felix Mudziki
upcoming OyOsMusic registered artist Felix Mudziki said musicians should try to stop drug abuse in schools and in communities and off the streets. He said there are so many things people say but he has come with a different perspective.
“I see that the great impact of this issue is coming from us musicians. In my understanding as an artist, music is about inspiring, teaching, motivating, healing, educating, entertaining etc. All these things have a great impact on the consumers of music, which therefore means all those must be delivered in a positive way, a way that builds.” He told OyOsNews.
“I have heard a song that said ‘Chamba talegaliser’ meaning we have legalized marijuana, yet we are fighting drug abuse off the streets. What are we teaching and inspiring to our youths? Hear me well musicians whatever we sing is taken and practised by the society, that’s why you see that we (musicians) are used to advertise certain products and be brand ambassadors just because it is known that we draw people's attention, we inspire them to buy or use those products. Now if we sing about drugs we will be inspiring these youths to smoke and abuse drugs.”
