OyOsMusic Festival to Host Entrepreneurial Workshops
The OyOsMusic Festival in partnership with the University of Zimbabwe Theatre Arts department and Drama for Life – the University of the Witwatersrand will host artist workshops at the University of Zimbabwe, Beithall on the 14th of December 2017 from 1100hrs to 1500hrs.
The workshops will focus on themes such as marketing, branding, intellectual property and collective bargaining, among others. In partnership with the Drama for Life AFRICA Project, the workshop will be inclusive of applied drama and theatre workshops focusing on themes of sex, sexuality and sexual reproductive health (SRH).
Drama for Life AFRICA Project is a Southern African Development Community (SADC) project in partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Goethe-Institut. This exciting project brings five SADC (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe) countries together around issues of sex, sexuality and sexual health. Drama for Life Theatre Company is committed to creating Applied Drama and Theatre programmes, encompassing stylised performances and workshops, that endeavour to assist youth to: find their voice, process social challenges they faced, learn about a human rights and social justice discourse, and vision a new way forward. Drama for Life Africa Zimbabwe representative and OyOsMusic Festival Director Courage Chinokwetu will facilitate the applied drama and theatre workshop.
Other workshop presenters include Jibilika Trust Director Nyaradzo Nhongonhema, female bassist and Zimbabwe Music Association representative Edith WeUtonga, gospel musician Tatenda Mahachi, comedian Kadem, among others.
