OyOsMusic gives a public lecture to UZ students
On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, OyOsMusic was invited at the University of Zimbabwe to deliver a public lecture on the importance of digital media in the arts and entertainment sector. OyOsMusic Senior Project Manager, Pearson Pfavayi took his time engaging in a productive discussion with the Arts and Entertainment Law students.
Leading the discussion also was OyOsMusic Manager, Nomsa Chikambi. Answering to a question posed by one of the students on why artists should go the digital way, Mr Pfavayi answered, “Well, looking back at the past years, one thing that becomes crystal clear is buying music online has grown massively and will continue to expand rapidly now and beyond. In fact, buying music online has become the primary revenue driver for both music, thereby radically changing the way people consume content and profoundly altering the manner in which the industry and artists deliver media to fans.”
In Zimbabwe, one such platform that is distributing music online is OyOsMusic digital store, although operating in an environment that is piracy dominated, it is doing its best to fight piracy thereby benefiting the artist.
