Sulu wows the crowd at President ED’s inauguration
Sulumani Chimbetu and his Orchestra Dendera Kings put out a standing ovation performance at the fully packed National Sports Stadium on Sunday 26 August at the inauguration President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s where he performed some of his late father’s (Simon Chimbetu) songs that got the crowd up on their feet.
The National Sports Stadium was fully packed and the crowd could be seen dancing and singing along to the tracks that Sulu was performing. It took less time for the Dendera vocalist to introduce himself on stage, he first sang ‘Alice’ which was well performed followed by his late fathers’ songs such as ‘Africa’ and ‘One Way’ among others.
Sulu first came to the public's attention in 2004 when he joined The Orchestra Dendera Kings. Since then he has had a career marked by successful collaborations with several local artists as well as an international tour schedule.
