'The Rise Of Emmerson Mnangagwa'
Zimbabwe- born actress, Danai Gurira and American actor Forest Whitaker will join local stars for the upcoming documentary, ‘The Rise of Emmerson Mnangagwa’.
The potential blockbuster is being produced by Tatenda Gate and directed by Zimbabwe-born, United Kingdom-based Kenny Gasa.
The film is said to be in its pre-production stages and will be shot in Zimbabwe beginning of next month.
The rise of ED, will capture the story of President Mnangagwa’s life, from his days as a young man, getting involved in anti-colonial politics through his time as a freedom fighter and evolving into a politician-leading Government into a ‘new’ Zimbabwe.
The story of the rise of Mnangagwa is one that was long overdue and it is on an interesting note that the documentary is now being made and the country’s sweetheart, Danai Gurira will be starring in it.
Tatenda Gate will also be flanked by a team including Asha Stuart (scriptwriter), Gunnar Orn (film cinematography and Stefania Vignisdottir.
