When Heaven calls legends- Oliver Mtukudzi, Charles Mungoshi and Dorothy Masuka
Seems the year 2019 has been marred with mourning wails and a sombre atmosphere as the nation has bid farewell to some of its Music and Arts Industry legends.
It started off with the passing on of a Jazz maestro, Oliver Mtukudzi on the 23rd of January. His death left a big scar in the hearts of many music lovers. If there will ever be another musician to live up to his name is still an issue to debate but one thing remains certain, he was one of a kind.
Fast forward a few weeks later, Literary giant, Charles Mungoshi followed on the path to heaven. The prolific and multi- award winning novelist, poet, short story writer and actor left the nation bereaved and robbed off its biggest novelist.
As if that was not enough sorrow, the shadow of death crept in a few days ago and robbed the nation yet again and this time Gogo Dorothy Masuka, a veteran musician followed on the same path to heaven.
One can only handle so much loss, it is time for a new dawn and 2019 should see the rising of more artists and celebrations of victories in the Arts Industry.
