Winky D's death a hoax- social media set on a pandemonium
The very alive Zimdancehall icon, Winky D

Winky D has yet again been “killed” by fake news. “Celeb slaughter” has become a common trend on social media and Winky D has been a victim of this ill trait on several occasions. The ‘MuGarden’ hit-maker was falsely reported as dead in 2012 and last night another message was circulating on social media that the artist has been involved in a fatal car crash near Gwanda.

“Zimbabwe’s award winning dancehall icon Wallace Chirumiko aka Winky D was involved in a fatal head on collision with a haulage truck this evening around 19:00HRS, 12 km near Gwanda. Contacted for comments, Winky D’s manager, Jonathan Banda confirmed saying, we have received the sad news that Winky D and two of his friends died on the spot following a fatal accident. For more info please kindly contact his family”, read the fake news falsely accredited to Duta News.

The message is fake on so many levels as Winky D is alive and was attending the Impala SAMA Festival in UK, alongside Jah Prayzah, Jah Signal, Tocky Vibez and Baba Harare.

OyOsNews condemns such fake news and would like to notify all Winky D friends and family that the artist is alive and they should look forward to more hits from the legendary ‘ Gaffa/ Gombwe’
