Zimbabwe Jazz Festival comes to life
It seems astonishing now, but jazz has not always been taken seriously by the majority of Zimbabweans although the gatekeepers of the genre have kept it going for many years. Many Zimbabweans who listen to sungura, chimurenga, R ‘n’ B, reggae and dancehall have considered jazz to be music for the elite and snobs. That is, however, not true as jazz is for everyone who understands and likes that kind of music.
The event will be held at Alliance Francaise on the 27th of October in Harare, showcasing some of Zimbabwe's finest Jazz talent on one stage, The Zimbabwe Jazz Festival is an 8-hour marathon of soul-soothing Jazz featuring some of Zimbabwe's finest Jazz musicians. A wide selection of Jazz sub-genres from smooth to Afro-fusion Jazz, the festival will be sure to satisfy every type of Jazz lover.
The festival aims to revive, promote and preserve Jazz culture in Zimbabwe, providing quality Entertainment and Education thus culturally enriching the country.
