Zimbabwe should tap into its untapped potential
In hindsight, I relive 26 April a night which not only showed how free a country we are but a night that proved beyond any doubt the potential we harbour as far as talent is concerned and our ability to be a party destination for international artists.
The ability to feel up the National Sports Stadium in a night of concert and celebration of the music industry is not far from our reach, we sure have the resources we just need to know how to tap into it. I watched the rookie Nutty O rock HICC along with the hip hop prodigy Takura and the Zim Dancehall veteran Winky D himself just to mention a few.
The energy the likes of Jah Prayzah, Jah Signal, EXQ and Suluman Chimbetu brought to the Ikonic Chronicles was off the charts and one can only imagine how it would have turned out if the likes of Enzo Ishall, Stunner, Ti Gonz were present but that is just what we need all our musicians coming together in concert.
When Winky D brought out Gemma Griffiths HICC erupted, the moral behind that is the fans enjoy it when their musicians come together and such an initiative will not only bring artists under one roof it would give birth to collaborations and a way for our artists to make money while they entertain the nation as well as attracting international artists like Patoranking. Food for thought for the artists even the promoters.
