Andy Muridzo life after Jah Prayzah
Back Then Andy Muridzo With MTM Members
Andy Muridzo is preparing to create a big brand name for himself since parting ways with Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement (MTM) earlier this week.
After only a year signing a contract that was supposed to keep him under Jah Prayzah’s MTM beyond 2020, Muridzo has decided to break the marriage and wants to establish a name under his own brand.
In an interview with his manager, Mr Gift Petro said the first step after leaving MTM is to push their brand on the spotlight because if they are to work with any artist, he/she has to know their music.
At the moment, Muridzo is working on his fourth album to be released in May as well as arranging collaborations with regional and international artists said Mr Petro.
He said, “We are arranging collaborations with artists like P Square, Zahara, Oskido, Mampi Mr Bow from Mozambique, Jose Chameleone from Uganda and Roberto from Zambia to mention just a few.
“We have already done collaborations with Slizer and Charma Gal both from Botswana.”
Petro further said that Muridzo is not only targeting foreign market but he is also open and will be doing a collaboration with local artists.
In another effort in establishing his brand name, Muridzo will be opening a recording studio by year end.
Petro said, “We are set to open our recording studio to push the brand Andy Muridzo locally, regionally, and internationally to get an opportunity to be invited to perform at bigger festivals in Europe, corporate events and endorsements.”
However, he said mobilising resources and funds to ground break these projects to take off has been the major problems but remain adamant that they will overcome.
Apart from leaving the MTM, Andy Muridzo team has acknowledged that they learnt a lot from the experience and it is high time to start going their own way.
“We learnt a lot from MTM music business.
“We were able to know how to professionally handle music business and connect with different people and stakeholders in the arts industry,” said Petro.
Military Touch Movement is a move that was formed to push Zimbabwean music on the continent. It has musicians which include Jah Prayzah, Nutty O, EQ X and Tahle Wedzinza among others.
